Monday was a holiday, but I was working. This is something that is fantastic. There was a patient who was stuck in an elevator. We do such a great job here, the patient called here for comfort. That was awesome.

Person: I want to speak with a supervisor. I don't want to see my doctor any longer"
ME: all right, but the protocol is that you see the provider once more to express that you would like to change providers.
Person: All right, but i still want to speak with a supervisor.
ME: no problem
ME:(to supervisor 1): are you able to speak with a patient?
Sup1: can they wait?
ME: yes.
Sup1; all right
I decided to go down the hall to see what rooms are available. Sup 2 walks in.
ME: Oh, just the person I need. I'll wait till you get settled.
Sup2: thank you.
ME (to supervisor 1): Sup2 is here, I'm just waiting for them to settle in.
Sup2: Great
ME(to sup2): after explaining what was happening to Sup2. i was told to tell them AGAIN what I already told them.
ME: (to sup1): I spoke with sup2 and was told to tell the patient what i already told them.
Sup1: Did you call sup2 back?
ME: I told her exactly what I just told you? I'll call her again. and I'll send an inbasket to the providers and cc Sup2.
ME: (to sup2) The 2nd patient still wants to speak with a sup.
Sup2: I'm with the first patient. See if sup1 is available. If not, if patient wants to wait, I'll speak with them.
ME: (to sup2): Patient is willing to wait.
Sup2: Did you not ask Alex?
ME: No, you said you would see the patient if he was willing to wait.
Sup2: I'm with the first patient. See if Sup1 will see patient.
ME: (To Sup1): Hello, I spoke with Sup2 and was told to see if you would see the 2nd patient.
Sup1: Why can't Sup2 see patient.
ME: I don't know. I explained everything to patient and patient still wants to see a manager.
Sup1: what about >>>blah...blah...blah? Call sup2 and let her know.
ME: I did and sup2 told me to see if you're available to see patient.
Sup1: call her and tell her what the patient said.
ME: i explained to Sup2 again. Can you call her and tell her?
Sup1: It'll be quicker to see the patient. what is the MRN?
ME: 1111111
Sup1; Oh, you know what, this patient sees a clinician. Have clinician speak with patient. This is clinicial. patient should speak with clinician about this.
ME: UUUUHHHHHHH.......OK
ME (to clinician): Hi I just spoke with sup1 and was told you must speak with this patient regarding changing providers.
Clinician: I just saw this patient.
ME: did patient speak with you regarding changing providers?
Clinician: yes, but my supervisor is not here. I don't know that to do.
ME: oh, we don't switch providers for patients. I explained to patient that he must see provider one last time before a switch can happen.
Clinician: I don't know what to do.
ME: Call Alex.
Clinician: My supervisor is not here.
ME: Call Alex.
