*Patient comes in and states that the “team” told him to
come to the desk and have a provider paged because she is not answering her
phone and they don’t know where she is. Anyone on the “team” could tell the
patient that, so I know the “team” did not tell the patient this. I check the
providers schedule and the provider is in session with a patient and will be
done in 5 minutes. I told the patient the provider is with a patient and your
appointment is in 5 minutes. Next thing I know, the first floor is paging the
same provider!!! They don’t check the
schedules !!!!!!

*I was given a hipaa by a manager for a patient to sign. I
was told that after the patient signs the hipaa, print out the psychosocial and the psych eval
for the patient, then fax it to the destination person named on the hipaa
consent. Sounds easy enough, I found
the hipaa in my mailbox, signed. I printed out the psychosocial and the psych
eval. Great. I see the name of the
person to receive the fax.
Asesome….But…where’s the fax number?
*We have interns. We get interns every year. And every year,
no one figures the logistics of the place. They need rooms and consequently,
the interns are roaming the halls looking for a room to treat the patient.
